Boy Meets World: Season One of the Series on DVD!

This TV sitcom focused on the life a your boy growing up and in the next few paragraph I attempt to summarize its first season in an effort to get your interest and get you to go buy the DVD.

That boy is Cory Matthews, the 11 year-old middle child of a middle class American family. He was a not so great student who lived next door to his sixth grade teacher, Mr. Feeny. In school he would always be around his best friend Shawn, a very naughty kid with good intentions. Among his other classmates were brainy teacher's pet Stuart and the otherworldly flower child Topanga Lawrence.

Cory's older brother Eric is lately more interested in hanging out with girls and looking nice than he is in his younger brother. Cory does not understand this. Cory's parents are not always around, but they are very loving parents. His dad, though not perfect, is a true role model for his kids and actually the episodes centered on him are some of the most emotional of the series. Mom is a stay-at-home-mom, that also inspires Cory from time to time. Oh and there's Cory's little sister Morgan who provides some great laughs.

In its core, though, the show is a situation comedy, and in its first season, it never crossed that line. The show is very sweet, but not silly and tedious but not melodramatic. Not with gimmicks, but with characters that grown on you, stories that pull you in, and actually funny comedy.

The show basically stands out at being a family sitcom, and at least in its first season, it succeeds with mostly realistic situations that are both funny and have value. I can't quite put a finger on it, but there's something about this show that works and works very well.

I hope I have caught your interest with this brief description of the show's first season. If I did, you will be glad to hear that the first season of Boy Meets World is available on DVD, in its entirety (also seasons two and three are available on DVD). Go buy it, rent it, whatever! I guarantee you will not regret it.
