Boy Meets World, the American sitcom, debuted on September 24 1993. It had Cory Matthews as the central character played superbly by Ben Savage and it became an instant success. The series revolved round Cory, his circle of friends, family members, teachers and well wishers. The episodes dealt with the problems that he faced everyday as he grew up from a junior high school boy to a matured married man. The show had humour, drama, romance and all other ingredients to make it a success with viewers. It was aired by ABC (American Broadcasting Corporation) from September 24 1993 to May 5 2000 and became an all time popular TV comedy serial.
Topanga is Cory's girlfriend and the part was played by Danielle Fishel. Then there is Shawn Hunter who is Cory's best friend and was played by Rider Strong. Some of the other major characters were that of George Feeny, Cory's mentor, Eric his elder brother and Alan and Amy Matthews, Cory's parents. Boy Meets World ran for seven seasons from 1993 to 2000. It is still being aired by some international TV channels in different countries. People loved watching Cory develop himself from a curious young boy to a matured married man. Whenever he felt lost or depressed he was always helped by his caring family, a loving friend and understanding teachers. In the end he unites with the girl of his dreams.
